Bittensor Token (TAO) Breaks Out Above $260, Targets $300
The price of Bittensor's token (TAO) has surged by as much as 18% in recent sessions, breaking above a descending trendline that had capped previous recovery attempts. This move comes after several protocol changes were implemented on the network, including upgrades to subnet emissions, staking, and root-network rewards.
The V440 Emission Gate introduced a demand threshold for subnet emissions, shifting rewards toward subnets with stronger market demand rather than maintaining passive value across every slot. Other recent releases include V441, V446, V447, and V448, covering root staking, alpha accounting, conviction-based subnet ownership, and safer staking operations.
The increase in price has been accompanied by a sharp surge in trading activity, with $868 million in 24-hour futures volume, up 158.61%, and open interest reaching $434.58 million, up 18.03%. The combination of higher price, heavier turnover, and rising open interest gives the breakout more weight than a low-volume move.
The chart now points to $300 as a potential target for TAO, with the next major resistance area sitting around $325-$350. If momentum carries TAO through $300, this zone previously attracted heavy selling and could become the next test for the recovery. On the downside, a decisive move back below $260 would weaken the breakout setup.
