Bitwise Axes Its Dogecoin ETF Amid Shift in Investment Strategy

Bitwise Investment Advisers has announced that it will liquidate and close its Dogecoin ETF, BWOW, by October 14, 2026. The fund manager cited efforts to 'optimize their product range' for investors as the reason behind this decision. After the last trading day on NYSE Arca, the fund's holdings will be converted to cash, and it will cease operations.

Shareholders will receive the fund's net asset value in cash on October 22, 2026, with no action required on their part. This move by Bitwise is a significant development for Dogecoin, which has been trading near $0.084 lately. Recent developments include Solana integration and technical resistance around $0.10.

The closure of the ETF will be a gradual process, allowing investors time to adjust to the change. It remains to be seen how this move will impact the price of Dogecoin in the long run.
