Bitwise Axes Underperforming Dogecoin ETF Amid Product Line Optimization
Bitwise Asset Management announced it will liquidate and close its DOGE (dogecoin) ETF, which debuted less than a year ago on the NYSE. The final trading day for Bitwise Dogecoin ETF (BWOW) is expected to be October 14th. Shareholders won't need to take any action as the liquidation will be in cash form.
According to SoSoValue data, the fund saw a net inflow of $318,000 last month after a small outflow in July. The DOGE ETF initially traded around $3 million on its first day but failed to maintain that level since its debut in November 2025.
Bitwise stated it decided to liquidate the fund to optimize their product lineup and meet evolving investor needs. As of now, the dogecoin fund has accumulated approximately $300 million in total trading volume, significantly lower than other alternative currency ETFs like Hyperliquid ($2.1 billion), Zcash ($1.5 billion), and Chainlink ($680 million).
