Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley Builds Crypto Empire
Hunter Horsley is the co-founder and CEO of Bitwise Asset Management, a cryptocurrency-focused investment management company. Before entering the industry, he worked at technology companies in Silicon Valley, including Facebook and Instagram.
After developing products, advertising systems, and monetization strategies at these companies, Horsley co-founded Bitwise with Hong Kim in 2016. The company initially focused on cryptocurrency index strategies, offering a structured approach to investing in digital assets.
Bitwise reached an important milestone in 2021 when it raised $70 million in a Series B funding round that valued the company at more than $500 million. Since then, Bitwise has expanded its business across ETFs, separately managed accounts, hedge fund solutions, and private funds.
