Bitwise Closes Dogecoin ETF Amid Low Demand

Instruments
BTC ETH DOGE
Share

The cryptocurrency investment firm Bitwise has announced that it will be liquidating and closing its Dogecoin ETF, which was launched less than a year ago. The last trading day for the Bitwise Dogecoin ETF on the New York Stock Exchange is scheduled for October 14th.

Investors can sell their shares normally in the secondary market until that date. After that, on October 22nd, remaining shareholders will receive the liquidated value of their shares, calculated based on October 21st's valuation.

According to Bitwise, this decision is part of a process to optimize its product lineup in response to changing investor demand.

The closure reflects the difficulty faced by Dogecoin ETFs in attracting consistent capital. The first Dogecoin ETF entered the market in September 2025, with expectations that altcoin funds could replicate some of Bitcoin and Ethereum's success.
