Bitwise Closes Dogecoin ETF Amid Product Range Optimization

Bitwise has decided to liquidate its Dogecoin ETF (BWOW) after roughly ten months of trading. The NYSE Arca-listed fund, which provides exposure to Dogecoin without requiring investors to hold the token directly, will stop trading on October 14.

The remaining shareholders will receive cash based on the net asset value calculated on October 21, eight days later. Bitwise has coordinated with NYSE Arca on the delisting and will withdraw the fund's share registration after the liquidation process is completed.

Bitwise cited the need to 'optimize its product range to meet evolving investor needs' as the reason for closing the fund. The company did not mention trading volume, assets under management, or fund expenses as contributing factors.
