Bitwise Closes Dogecoin ETF Due to Weak Investor Demand

Instruments
DOGE
Share

Bitwise is shutting down its Dogecoin ETF (BWOW) less than a year after launching it in November 2025. The decision comes as the fund struggles to attract investors, holding approximately $688,000 in net assets as of September 9.

The closure affects a trading halt, cash conversion, and shareholder payout schedule set for October. Bitwise will liquidate the fund on October 14, with shareholders able to sell their shares during the session that day.

The company plans to convert Dogecoin holdings into cash on October 14 and stop creating new shares before the market opens on October 15. Remaining shareholders are set to receive cash based on the net asset value of their shares on October 21, with payments expected on or around October 22.
