Bitwise Cuts Losses by Shutting Down Dogecoin ETF
Crypto asset manager Bitwise has announced it will liquidate its spot Dogecoin ETF roughly 10 months after launch. The final trading day for the Bitwise Dogecoin ETF on the NYSE is October 14.
The fund's website states that investors can sell their shares until the close of trading on October 14, and remaining shareholders will receive cash payments on October 22 based on the fund's net asset value as of October 21. The company cited an effort to optimize its product lineup in response to changing investor needs.
Total net inflows into all spot Dogecoin ETFs amount to just around $318,000 in August, while total trading volume since launch has reached roughly $300 million. For comparison, similar funds tracking Hyperliquid have generated about $2.1 billion in trading volume.
