Bitwise Cuts Ties with Dogecoin: BWOW ETF to Shut Down October 14

Bitwise, a well-known provider of exchange-traded funds (ETFs), has announced that it will shut down its Dogecoin ETF, BWOW. The fund's last trading day on the NYSE Arca will be October 14, with remaining funds to be paid to shareholders by October 22.

The closure comes less than a year after BWOW launched on November 26, 2025. Bitwise introduced the ETF to give investors exposure to Dogecoin without directly owning DOGE.

While the fund had a negative cumulative flow of $1.23 million and total assets of $690,490, Bitwise attributed the closure to improving its product lineup and meeting changing investor needs rather than weak demand or poor performance.
