Bitwise Launches Automated Token Portfolios for Crypto Investors
Bitwise Asset Manager has announced plans to launch automated token portfolios (ATPs), which will allow investors to hold tokenized stocks in a crypto wallet. These ATPs are similar to exchange-traded funds (ETFs) but with direct control over the tokens and flexibility to use them as collateral for decentralized finance apps or lending.
The first ATP, Mag7X, holds eight U.S. stocks at an equal weight, including Space Exploration Technologies. It charges a 0.15% access fee, comparable to index ETFs, but excludes trading costs and Glider's platform fees. This flexibility is especially valuable for investors who have capital tied up in crypto but need to tap it as collateral.
While U.S.-based investors cannot use ATPs due to regulatory restrictions, Bitwise is poised to revolutionize the way people invest in traditional stocks. As regulations change and new portfolio concepts emerge, these automated portfolios may become a valuable tool for savvy investors.
