Bitwise Launches Self-Custodied Tokenized Stock Portfolios with Coinbase
Bitwise Asset Management has launched tokenized stock portfolios in collaboration with Coinbase. The new offering allows eligible non-US investors to follow pre-set investment strategies while retaining individual tokens in their own wallets.
The initial lineup includes three model portfolios: Mag7X, which focuses on robotics and AI leaders, and others that include Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft, Tesla, and SpaceX. Unlike traditional funds, these tokenized stocks remain with the users, who can also use them for lending or borrowing in DeFi applications.
Bitwise charges a 0.15% methodology access fee, excluding trading fees on Glider's platform. Coinbase's tokenized US stocks have seen significant growth, with a total value of $2.49 billion and 2.25 million holders as of the past month. The new portfolios leverage this momentum to provide users with diversified investment options.
The launch coincides with the recent introduction of Coinbase's tokenized US stocks on Base, allowing eligible non-US users to trade these assets around the clock and utilize them across DeFi applications.
