Bitwise Liquidates Underperforming Dogecoin ETF Amid Declining Assets
Bitwise has announced that it will liquidate its Dogecoin ETF (BWOW) due to low investor interest and a significant decline in net asset value. The fund, which debuted on November 25, 2025, had struggled to gain traction, with assets under management totaling just $721,815 as of September 8. This represents a 45% decline in net asset value since its launch.
The final day of trading for the Bitwise Dogecoin ETF on NYSE Arca will be October 14, with the final closure scheduled for October 22. Investors who remain in the fund do not need to take further action and will receive cash for their shares based on the net asset value as of October 21.
Bitwise cited the optimization of its product suite to meet changing investor needs as the primary reason for the liquidation, stating that it is coordinating the delisting process with the NYSE. The company manages approximately $9 billion in client assets across more than 70 products, making this decision an example of product selection within a growing lineup rather than a shift in strategy.
