Bitwise Partners with Superstate on Tokenized Shares
Bitwise Asset Management is teaming up with Superstate to bring tokenized shares of its funds on-chain. The partnership aims to provide investors with an alternative way to hold shares in certain Bitwise funds, such as the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (NYSE: BSOL). Tokenization would change only the form of share ownership, not the rights or channels through which shares are purchased.
Under the framework being developed by the two companies, investors could choose to hold shares in traditional book-entry form through The Depository Trust Company or in tokenized form recorded on a blockchain and maintained through Superstate's transfer agency infrastructure. Shares held in tokenized form would carry identical rights as those held in book-entry form.
The availability of the tokenized share option for BSOL is subject to applicable legal and regulatory requirements, which means there can be no assurance as to whether or when this feature will become available.
