Bitwise Secures Deal with UK Retail Giant Hargreaves Lansdown
Bitwise Asset Management has secured a distribution deal with Hargreaves Lansdown to offer its Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded products (ETPs) in the UK. The partnership will make Bitwise's ETPs available to retail investors through Hargreaves Lansdown, which serves more retail investors than any other platform in Britain.
In April 2025, Bitwise listed four Bitcoin and Ethereum ETPs on the London Stock Exchange, but they were initially restricted to professional and institutional investors due to the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) skepticism towards letting everyday savers invest in crypto. However, in October 2025, the FCA lifted its ban on retail access to crypto-backed ETPs.
Hargreaves Lansdown announced that it will start offering Bitwise's products to clients from early 2026, pending risk assessments. The platform plans to follow FCA guidance, capping portfolio allocation to crypto products at 10%.
