Bitwise Shuts Down Dogecoin ETF as Trading Volume Fades
Bitwise Investment Advisers has announced it will liquidate and close its Bitwise Dogecoin ETF (BWOW), less than a year after the fund's launch. The decision is part of an effort to optimize the firm's product range for evolving investor needs, according to a recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The BWOW fund will cease trading on NYSE Arca after October 14, 2026, and investors who remain in the fund as of that date will receive cash based on its net asset value. The distribution is expected to occur on or around October 22.
At the time of the announcement, BWOW reported approximately $687,713 in net assets, with about 8.2 million DOGE held in trust and 50,000 shares outstanding.
