Bitwise Shuts Down Dogecoin ETF BWOW Amid Uneven Demand
Bitwise has announced that it will shut down its Dogecoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) BWOW, effective October 14. Trading for BWOW will end on this date, and shareholders can sell their shares until then.
The decision to close the ETF comes as Bitwise reviews its lineup of products and assesses investor demand. The company has noted that single-asset crypto ETFs have seen uneven demand, with Bitcoin and Ethereum funds attracting more assets than smaller-token funds like BWOW.
After trading ends on October 14, Bitwise will begin the liquidation process for BWOW. Shareholders who still hold the fund after this date will receive cash based on its net asset value as of October 21, with payments scheduled for October 22.
