Bitwise Shuts Down Dogecoin ETF Less Than a Year After Launch
Bitwise Asset Management has announced plans to shut down its Bitwise Dogecoin ETF (BWOW) less than a year after launching it on November 25, 2025. The company cited the need to 'optimize its product range to meet evolving investor needs.'
The fund had approximately $688,000 in net assets as of September 9, according to Bitwise's fund data. Trading for BWOW is set to end on October 14, with cash payouts to follow around October 22.
Bitwise plans to liquidate its Dogecoin (DOGE) holdings and convert them to cash on October 14. The company will then stop creating new shares before the market opens on October 15.
