Bitwise Shuts Down Underperforming Dogecoin ETF After Nine Months
Bitwise Investment Advisers has announced that it will shut down its Dogecoin ETF, ticker BWOW, on October 14th. The fund was launched in late November 2025 and held around $688,000 in net assets as of September 9th.
The decision to close the fund comes just under 10 months after its debut, with Bitwise citing a desire to optimize its product range for evolving investor needs. Trading on NYSE Arca will end on October 14th, and remaining holders will receive cash based on the fund's net asset value as of October 21st.
The BWOW ETF charged a fee of 0.34% and struggled to attract significant assets under management, with demand trailing behind its competitors. The token itself has traded near $0.084 on Friday, down around 2.6%. Bitwise's decision is part of a larger effort to prune its crypto ETF lineup.
