Bitwise Solana ETF Sees $1 Billion Inflows Amid Declining Value
Investors have poured over $1 billion into the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (NYSEARCA:BSOL), but many are now underwater. The fund, launched on October 28, 2025, allows investors to hold Solana without directly holding the token, and has been a hit with advisors and retirement accounts. However, as of August 24, 2026, the fund's assets under management (AUM) were reported at around $760-770 million, despite cumulative net inflows of over $1.01 billion.
The divergence between inflows and AUM is due to the decline in Solana's value. Over the past year, BSOL has dropped 41%, while Solana itself has fallen by 49%. The fund's 7% annualized staking yield does not make up for this loss. Recent moves have been volatile, with BSOL rising 49% over the past month and 26% over the past week.
BSOL is a single-asset fund that concentrates risk rather than spreading it out. The sponsor fee waiver was tied to both an asset threshold and a three-month window, so investors should read the prospectus carefully. Bitwise announced on August 13, 2026, that it is exploring tokenizing BSOL shares with Superstate.
