Bitwise Tests Tokenization for Solana Staking ETF
Bitwise Asset Management is exploring tokenized shares for some of its exchange-traded funds (ETFs) through a partnership with fintech firm Superstate. The first fund targeted for this change is the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (BSOL), which was launched in late 2025 and focuses on staking Solana's value while producing extra Solana via staking activities.
The tokenization effort aims to offer an alternative recordkeeping system for investors, allowing them to hold shares on a blockchain rather than through traditional book-entry form. However, it's essential to note that nothing is guaranteed yet, and regulatory approval must be obtained before this capability can launch.
Tokenized shares would retain the same economic and voting rights as conventional shares but would be recorded differently. Investors could choose between holding shares in traditional book-entry form or on a blockchain, with Superstate's transfer-agency infrastructure maintaining records of tokenized holdings.
