Bitwise Unveils Tokenized Stock Portfolios for Direct Wallet Management
Cryptocurrency asset manager Bitwise has launched a tokenized stock portfolio product that allows investors to hold and manage their investments directly in their own crypto wallets. The Automated Token Portfolios (ATP) feature utilizes tokenized U.S. stocks provided by Coinbase, with the on-chain asset management platform Glider's system automatically adjusting investor holdings according to Bitwise's predetermined stock weightings.
The initial offerings include portfolios containing the Magnificent Seven, artificial intelligence (AI), and robotics-related stocks. The key distinguishing feature from traditional funds is that investor assets are not pooled into a single investment vehicle for management. Tokenized stocks remain stored in investors' own non-custodial wallets, with only the portfolio composition and weightings being automatically adjusted.
Bitwise currently manages approximately $9 billion (about 12.5 trillion won) in client assets. The ATP management fee is 0.15%, with launch expected within the coming weeks. This product represents a fusion of traditional finance's management models with decentralized finance's (DeFi) self-custody principles.
