BLACK XRP BULL Launch Highlights Risks of Misleading Token Branding
Crypto analyst Steph Is Crypto has been promoting a new memecoin called BLACK XRP BULL ($STEPH), telling followers that it 'will create many new millionaires.' The token is available on the Solana launchpad pump.fun, with a market capitalization of approximately $4,640 and a 24-hour gain of more than 6%.
The promotion centers on XRP branding, but the purchase link reveals an important technical detail: BLACK XRP BULL is a Solana token launched through pump.fun, making it separate from Ripple's blockchain infrastructure.
This distinction is crucial because the token is not issued on the XRP Ledger and does not utilize the XRPL's native decentralized exchange, trustline system, or automated market maker features. Instead, it follows pump.fun's token launch model, where newly created Solana tokens trade through a bonding curve before potentially moving to larger liquidity venues.
The launch serves as a reminder that not every cryptocurrency carrying XRP branding is connected to the XRP Ledger or Ripple. Native XRPL tokens operate directly on the XRP Ledger, with transactions settling within seconds and incurring very low fees. BLACK XRP BULL investors must use Solana-compatible wallets such as Phantom or Solflare instead of XRPL wallets like Xaman or Crossmark.
