BlackRock CEO Sees $700K Bitcoin Potential with Institutional Adoption
Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock, one of the world's largest asset managers, believes Bitcoin has the potential to reach $700,000 per coin. At a recent forum, he presented a scenario where institutional investors and sovereign wealth funds allocate between 2% to 5% of their portfolios to Bitcoin, which would drive up prices to between $500,000 and $700,000.
Fink emphasized that this was not a recommendation, but rather a thought experiment based on institutional math. He framed Bitcoin as a digital analogue to gold, an asset for those worried about inflation eroding the purchasing power of their local currency.
BlackRock's own iShares Bitcoin Trust, IBIT, has already shown significant interest in Bitcoin, with over 771,000 BTC held by December 31, 2025. This represents a substantial chunk of Bitcoin's total circulating supply and a position worth more than $70 billion at prices above $100,000.
However, Fink's prediction is conditional on the world's largest pools of capital deciding to allocate meaningful amounts to Bitcoin. The barriers are real, with regulatory uncertainty, custody concerns, and volatility in crypto markets giving institutional risk committees pause.
