BlackRock Crypto ETFs Bleed $3.5 Billion After Last Year's Boom
BlackRock's crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have experienced a significant reversal of fortunes, shedding $3.5 billion in value over the second quarter.
This marks a stark contrast to last year's creation boom, which saw a $13.9 billion increase in capital-share transactions for the same period.
The iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) and iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA), managed by BlackRock, recorded net decreases of $2.9 billion and $583.4 million, respectively.
At the trust level, IBIT's operations reduced net assets by over $7 billion during Q2 2026, while ETHA's decreased them by $1.5 billion.
