BlackRock Debuts Canada-Listed ETFs with Integrated Crypto Exposure
BlackRock has launched two new iShares exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX), expanding its presence in Canada. The first, IBQT, offers a mix of equities and a small allocation to Bitcoin exposure, while XINT provides broad international equity exposure.
The iShares Equity + Bitcoin ETF Portfolio (IBQT) is designed to hold 97% of its portfolio in a mix of equities across various markets and only 3% in Bitcoin through BlackRock's Canadian iShares Bitcoin ETF (IBIT). This structure aims to provide investors with diversified equity exposure alongside measured crypto exposure.
XINT, on the other hand, tracks the MSCI ACWI ex North America IMI Index, covering more than 5,000 companies across over 40 markets outside of Canada and the United States. BlackRock's US Bitcoin ETF business, IBIT, remains a significant player with approximately $47.9 billion in assets under management.
These launches reflect the growing trend of integrating crypto exposure into mainstream portfolios through small, rules-based allocations rather than all-in constructions.
