BlackRock, DTCC, Visa Join Circle's Arc Blockchain Ahead of September Launch
Circle's Arc blockchain has gathered significant support from major financial institutions before its public launch on September 16. The founding validator cohort includes notable names such as BlackRock, DTCC, Visa, and Mastercard.
These institutions will not only validate transactions but also develop integrations for tokenized funds, stablecoin settlement, custody, and foreign exchange infrastructure. Over 100 institutional participants are already building on Arc's private mainnet.
Circle is attempting to build a blockchain network that meets the operational resilience, governance, and compliance requirements of financial institutions. Unlike public blockchains, Arc will be secured by globally regulated institutions that operate critical payment, custody, and capital market systems.
DTCC plans to enable tokenization of assets held within The Depository Trust Company on Arc in the second half of 2027. This integration could become a crucial link between conventional securities infrastructure and blockchain-based settlement.
Circle's strategy is not about competing with consumer-focused blockchain networks but rather providing infrastructure for payments, securities settlement, treasury management, and tokenized financial assets.
