BlackRock Dumps $240M into Bitcoin and Ethereum via Spot ETFs
BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, has made its latest move in the crypto space by acquiring approximately $240 million worth of Bitcoin and Ethereum. The purchases were transferred to wallets associated with its spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs): IBIT for Bitcoin, and ETHA and ETHB for Ethereum.
The transfer was detected by on-chain data from Onchain Lens, which reported that BlackRock bought 2,802.904 BTC and 6,580 ETH in the latest transaction. This move comes amid a period of renewed interest from traditional financial institutions in cryptocurrencies.
By channeling funds through its ETFs, BlackRock provides a familiar and regulated avenue for investors to gain exposure to digital assets, potentially reducing volatility and increasing market stability over time.
