BlackRock Exec: US Debt Concerns Fuel Bitcoin Optimism
BlackRock's digital assets chief Robbie Mitchnick has expressed strong optimism about Bitcoin, citing its emerging store of value alongside gold. He attributes this to growing concerns over U.S. debt and fiscal deficits, which tend to benefit scarce assets like Bitcoin. According to Mitchnick, when equities lag and fixed-income markets turn choppy, investors seek alternatives to conventional financial exposures.
The trading activity of BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF, IBIT, supports this narrative. Last week, the fund saw its highest volume for a positive week, with 439.5 million shares traded while gaining 22.59% and attracting $1.33 billion in net inflows.
IBIT has become the world's largest spot Bitcoin ETF, having attracted $63 billion in investor capital since launch. This month alone, it received $2.64 billion in net inflows, its strongest monthly total since October 2025.
