BlackRock Goes Big on Blockchain with Tokenized Fund Launch
BlackRock has filed with the SEC to issue tokenized fund shares on Solana, marking one of the clearest signals yet that the world's largest asset manager is moving deeper into blockchain-based finance.
The filing centers on a new product called the BlackRock Daily Reinvestment Stablecoin Reserve Vehicle (BRSRV), an expansion of BlackRock's existing cash management strategy. The fund's tokenization is being handled by Securitize, according to reports, the same firm BlackRock has worked with on prior tokenization efforts.
BRSRV is structured as a multi-chain product, meaning it isn't limited to Solana alone. A Second Fund on Ethereum Alongside BRSRV, BlackRock also just launched a separate tokenized fund called BSTBL on Ethereum.
The scale behind the move is significant: BlackRock currently manages about $15 trillion in assets worldwide. Bringing stablecoin reserves onchain through a regulated, GENIUS Act-aligned structure signals that BlackRock views tokenization as infrastructure worth building now, not a speculative side project.
