BlackRock Grabs $1.5B in Crypto ETF Inflows as Bitcoin, Ethereum Prices Recover
BlackRock's cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs) drew over $1.5 billion in net inflows between August 24 and August 28, with its iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) recording $938.3 million in fresh capital.
The firm's Ethereum ETFs, ETHA and ETHB, attracted a combined $644.3 million during the same period, with BlackRock capturing a significant share of institutional capital entering both Bitcoin and Ethereum products.
The strong inflows coincided with a recovery in Bitcoin's price, which climbed above $80,000 for the first time in more than three months before retreating toward the upper-$70,000 range. Ethereum's price also strengthened alongside the inflow trend, trading around the $2,400 to $2,500 range after posting a sharp rebound from its August lows.
The sustained buying reflects growing institutional interest in both cryptocurrencies, with BlackRock's ETHA having attracted over $1 billion in inflows over a nine-session buying streak. The asset manager remains the dominant Ethereum ETF in the U.S. market, and its Bitcoin fund continued to attract significant capital despite briefly ending a nine-day inflow streak on August 28.
