BlackRock Joins Institutional Buying Frenzy with $200M Bitcoin Purchase
Global asset manager BlackRock made a significant purchase of Bitcoin on August 27, buying an additional $200.76 million worth of the cryptocurrency.
This move comes as part of a broader trend of institutional demand for Bitcoin, with inflows into spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) markets continuing since the cryptocurrency broke above the $80,000 resistance level.
According to data provider Whale Insider, BlackRock's purchase was one of several large transactions made that day, with the company's clients also buying $232.12 million worth of Bitcoin in the spot ETF market.
This shift in trading stance is notable, as BlackRock had recently sold Bitcoin repeatedly due to increased volatility.
