BlackRock Loads Up on $111M in Bitcoin
BlackRock, a leading asset manager, has made another significant move into bitcoin. The company purchased $111.43 million worth of the cryptocurrency in one day, following the spot bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) market's return to net inflows.
According to on-chain data, BlackRock took the largest share of newly inflowing funds in the spot bitcoin ETF market, with a total of more than $170 million flowing into the market that day. The move has sparked interest among market participants, who are watching to see if this signals growing institutional demand for bitcoin.
BlackRock's actions have been inconsistent, buying and selling bitcoin regularly. However, experts believe that the size of their purchase and the concentration of inflows is a key factor in determining the market reaction. If BlackRock continues to make large purchases, it could be a sign that institutional investment demand remains strong.
