BlackRock Unveils Tokenized Fund Shares on Solana Amid Growing Institutional Support
BlackRock's move into blockchain-based finance has reached new heights as it filed with the SEC to issue tokenized fund shares on Solana. This marks one of the clearest signals yet that the world's largest asset manager is embracing the potential of decentralized finance.
The filing centers around a new product called BlackRock Daily Reinvestment Stablecoin Reserve Vehicle (BRSRV), an expansion of its existing cash management strategy. BRSRV is designed to qualify as a GENIUS Act asset, positioning it specifically to serve as reserve backing for regulated stablecoins under the new legislation.
The fund's tokenization is being handled by Securitize, according to reports, the same firm BlackRock has worked with on prior tokenization efforts. BRSRV is structured as a multi-chain product, meaning it isn't limited to Solana alone.
BlackRock currently manages about $15 trillion in assets worldwide, per reports, making any move into tokenized products notable simply because of the size of capital the firm oversees.
