BlackRock Unveils Two New ETFs in Canada, Including a Bitcoin-Linked Portfolio
BlackRock, a global investment management company, has expanded its Canadian ETF lineup with the launch of two new funds. The iShares Core MSCI All-International Equity Index ETF (ticker: XINT) and the iShares Equity + Bitcoin ETF Portfolio (ticker: IBQT) are now available for trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
XINT tracks the MSCI ACWI ex North America IMI Index, which includes over 5,000 large-, mid-, and small-cap companies across more than 40 developed and emerging market countries outside Canada and the United States. The fund has an annual management fee of 0.23%.
IBQT, on the other hand, is designed to invest primarily in one or more iShares ETFs that provide exposure to equity securities and Bitcoin. The fund allocates approximately 97% of its portfolio across Canadian, U.S., international, and emerging market equities, with the remaining 3% targeted toward Bitcoin. To obtain digital asset exposure, IBQT holds the Canadian-listed iShares Bitcoin ETF (Cboe Canada: IBIT), rather than holding spot Bitcoin directly or holding the U.S.-listed IBIT fund.
The launches are part of BlackRock's effort to expand access to investing for Canadian clients through one-ticker solutions. According to Steven Leong, managing director and head of Canada Product and iShares at BlackRock, 'the launches are part of the firm’s effort to expand access to investing for Canadian clients through one-ticker solutions.'
