BlackRock Vet Predicts XRP Success Based on Institutional Adoption
A former managing director at BlackRock believes that Ripple's technology will succeed due to institutional adoption. Speaking in an interview, Tom Dowd stated that 'I think it will succeed if these big institutions are adopting it.' He cited large companies integrating Ripple's technology into their operations as a signal of growth for the network.
Dowd acknowledged that XRP has divided opinions among investors, but he believes that institutional behavior carries more weight than public sentiment. He pointed out that institutions do not have to be 'all in' for the network to generate significant value, noting that even a portion of global payment flow through Ripple's infrastructure represents a substantial outcome.
Ripple's total addressable market in cross-border payments runs into the trillions annually, and Dowd suggested that capturing a smaller share of this market still produces enormous transaction volume. His comments align with growing institutional interest in Ripple's technology, as several major financial firms have explored or announced integrations with Ripple's payment infrastructure.
