BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF Dominance Continues with Record Inflows

BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) continues to dominate the US spot Bitcoin ETF market, attracting $143.57 million in net inflows on a single day.

This influx of capital brings IBIT's total to $693 million in August 2026 alone, accounting for approximately 81% of all spot Bitcoin ETF inflows since its launch earlier this year.

The strong institutional demand is largely driven by BlackRock's vast asset management scale and existing client relationships, making it easier for institutions to gain exposure to Bitcoin through regulated ETFs without the complexities of direct custody.

This trend suggests continued robust interest in Bitcoin among institutions via regulated ETFs, despite a 50% drop in price since its October 2025 record high to below $60,000 in June 2026. As reported by BlackRock, this decline was attributed to excessive leverage and weaker institutional demand.
