BlackRock's Crypto Holdings Soar Over $15 Billion Amid Bitcoin, Ethereum Rally
BlackRock's cryptocurrency holdings experienced a significant surge in August, driven by a sharp rally in Bitcoin and Ethereum prices. The asset manager's digital asset portfolio expanded by more than $15 billion to reach $68.48 billion as of August 31, up from $53.36 billion at the start of the month.
The growth was primarily fueled by BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF (IBIT) and spot Ethereum ETF (ETHA). IBIT holdings surged to $60.35 billion from $47.69 billion, while ETHA holdings rose to $8.12 billion from $5.67 billion.
This increase reflects both price appreciation and continued investor inflows into the funds. The success of these products has likely encouraged other asset managers to consider similar offerings, potentially leading to deeper liquidity and market stability.
