BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA) will undergo a reverse share split on October 6, 2026, reducing its outstanding shares and increasing its net asset value per share. According to an 8-K filing with the SEC, each three ETHA shares will be combined into one share, raising the share price without altering any shareholder's investment value.

The filing states that no action is required from current shareholders, as brokerages will automatically process the share consolidation based on the October 5 record date. The split will also lower the cost of trading ETHA, with Bloomberg Senior ETF Analyst Eric Balchunas estimating a decrease from 7 basis points to 2 basis points.

While some may see this move as a signal of BlackRock's confidence in the fund, it is primarily intended to make the stock easier and cheaper to trade. As Balchunas noted, the change will push ETHA's share price from around $14 to roughly $42 in October.
