BlackRock's Historic SEC Filing Signals Institutional Adoption on Solana
BlackRock's recent SEC filing marks a significant milestone for institutional adoption on the Solana blockchain. The new fund, BlackRock Daily Reinvestment Stablecoin Reserve Vehicle (BRSRV), will hold cash and short-term US Treasury bills, not crypto assets.
The BRSRV tokenized fund will be available on three chains: Ethereum, Tempo, and SOL. This development is notable as it links real-world assets to a public chain for the first time.
While this move does not directly inject $15 trillion into the Solana network, as some might speculate, it represents a significant step in blockchain adoption by major financial institutions.
Solana's SOL token traded at $73.97, up 1.43% over the past day, and 1.16% across the past week. Daily trading volume reached $1.5 billion, a sharp increase of 54.86% from the previous day.
