BlackRock's Tokenized Money Market Fund Scores Top Rating

BlackRock's tokenized money market fund has secured its top rating from S&P Global Ratings, just days after launching. The BRSRV fund received an AAAm principal stability fund rating on August 3, recognizing its expected ability to maintain principal stability and limit losses caused by credit risk.

The fund, which holds cash, short-term Treasuries, and overnight repurchase agreements secured by Treasury instruments, has $50 million in assets and a $1.00 net asset value as of August 4. S&P based the rating on the creditworthiness of the fund's investments and counterparties, its maturity structure, and BlackRock Advisors' policies for maintaining a stable net asset value.

The rating represents S&P's view that BRSRV has an extremely strong capacity to preserve principal and limit losses arising from credit risk. However, it does not guarantee that the fund will always maintain its $1 share price, and investors could lose money.
