BlackRock's XRP ETF Ambitions Remain Uncertain Amid Growing Market
BlackRock's interest in launching an XRP exchange-traded fund (ETF) remains uncertain, despite recent speculation. A resurfaced clip of a Fox interview with Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock, shows him being asked about the possibility of another cryptocurrency ETF and specifically one for XRP. When pressed for a response, Fink replied, 'I can't.'
The interview has garnered attention in the growing spot XRP ETF market, which has already seen seven issuers launch their own products, including 21Shares, Bitwise, and Canary Capital. The market's total assets stand at approximately $1.4 billion, with over $1.55 billion in net inflows.
Industry analysts suggest that BlackRock typically prefers to see significant liquidity and scale before entering a new segment, with some reports indicating the firm may wait until the XRP ETF market reaches around $3 billion in assets before considering its own product.
