Blanchet's Hacked X Account Restored After Two Weeks of Suspicious Bitcoin Posts
Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet's X account was hacked on July 11, and for two weeks, his followers were bombarded with suspicious posts promoting Bitcoin. The hack was initially deleted by X, but the identical post reappeared this week, causing concern among party officials.
Blanchet himself wrote a post on his own account, insisting that the messages are real and pinned a retweet saying 'Bitcoin and Crypto changed my life.'
The Bloc Québécois party publicly admitted to the breach in its own post on X, warning users not to click on any of the publications linked to cryptocurrency until they hear otherwise from the party.
After 11 days of silence, X restored Blanchet's account early Friday morning. The party says X's collaboration was 'not optimal.'
