Block.one's Brendan Blumer Tied to Record-Breaking UWS Townhouse Sale

Share

Crypto billionaire and CEO of Block.one, Brendan Blumer, appears to be behind the most expensive townhouse sale on the Upper West Side in New York City. An entity tied to his company paid $45 million for a massive megamansion at 48-50 West 69th Street.

The property was originally listed for $85 million but saw a nearly 50% price cut before being sold. The home has five bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, and spans over 19,600 square feet across eight stories, featuring a commercial-grade elevator and an indoor-outdoor wellness space with a lap pool.

This sale sets a neighborhood record for the most expensive townhouse sale on the Upper West Side, surpassing the previous record of $22 million set in 2022. The buyer's identity was initially denied by Compass agent Maggie Wu, who claimed that an 'investor' purchased the property with plans to lightly renovate and re-list it later this fall.
