Blockchain.com Expands to Ghana as Africa Sees Record Crypto Adoption
Blockchain.com has expanded its operations to Ghana, just months after reporting a staggering 700% growth in transaction volume in Nigeria. The London-headquartered company launched brokerage services in Ghana on March 9 and is now active across over 70 jurisdictions.
The firm cited strong organic demand from Ghana before the formal launch, with active users increasing by 140% and transaction volumes rising by 80% on its platform over the past year.
Mobile money integration is a key priority for Blockchain.com in Ghana, given the widespread use of mobile payment systems in the country. The company has established local compliance representation in Ghana and is working with regulators to develop a domestic cryptocurrency framework.
