Blockchain.com Gains Crucial License for Crypto Services in Cayman Islands
Blockchain.com has secured a crucial license to operate as a virtual asset service provider in the Cayman Islands. This comes after the company received conditional approval from the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority in December 2025, and maintained a registration since May 2022.
The new license allows Blockchain.com to offer regulated cryptocurrency custody services, crypto-to-fiat and crypto-to-crypto exchange services locally. The company's co-chief executive Rain Casselman noted that this approval follows a string of recent regulatory approvals, including the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) license in Europe and registration with the UK Financial Conduct Authority.
The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority granted Blockchain.com a virtual asset service provider license on July 22, as reported by Cointelegraph on August 6. This move marks a significant step for Blockchain.com in expanding its services in the region.
