Blockchain.com Secures Full Cayman VASP Licence
Blockchain.com has received full approval from the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority for its virtual asset service provider (VASP) licence. This licence allows the company to provide regulated crypto custody and exchange services in the jurisdiction, replacing its previous conditional status.
The VASP licence also permits exchanges between virtual assets and fiat currencies, as well as between different forms of convertible virtual assets. This expands Blockchain.com's product range beyond secure digital asset storage.
Blockchain.com plans to use this licence to expand its institutional custody services for professional digital asset holders, including secure infrastructure designed for organizations managing large cryptocurrency balances.
The company will also provide retail staking services for eligible users under applicable local rules. This forms part of a wider regulated product suite available through the Cayman subsidiary.
