Blockchain Loans Test Aims to Streamline Farm Lending in India
Arya.ag is testing blockchain loans on its USD 2B farm assets using tokenized grain receipts on Avalanche. The initiative aims to improve collateral verification and create more efficient lending workflows for agricultural borrowers.
The model converts verified warehouse receipts and related information into blockchain-based digital records, linking physical assets with digital lending records. Each tokenized receipt represents ownership of stored commodities, making it easier for lenders to verify stored crops and check existing collateral claims.
Digital tokens could bring details together, reducing repeated checks and improving lender visibility. This approach could help farmers approach multiple lenders with one verified digital record, potentially leading to greater lender competition and improved loan terms.
