Blockchain M&A Booms with Record $8.6 Billion in Crypto Deals

Share

Crypto M&A deals reached an all-time high in 2025, with $8.6 billion across 267 transactions, according to PitchBook data.

The three largest deals were Coinbase's $2.9 billion acquisition of Deribit, Kraken's $1.5 billion purchase of NinjaTrader, and Ripple's $1.25 billion deal for Hidden Road.

Regulatory developments played a significant role in driving M&A activity, including the GENIUS Act, MiCA enforcement across the EU, and OCC charter approvals for five digital asset firms.

Traditional finance companies also entered the blockchain M&A market, with Stripe's $1.1 billion purchase of stablecoin platform Bridge marking its largest acquisition to date.
