Blockchain-Powered Pilot Aims to Simplify US State Benefits Distribution
A groundbreaking pilot project, named RISE (Resources for Independence, Stability, and Employment), has been launched by Digital Asset, in collaboration with the American Idea Foundation led by former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan. The initiative aims to modernize the distribution of US state benefits using distributed ledger technology.
The program will integrate monthly or biweekly payments for food, childcare, and direct assistance on Canton Network. This new system is expected to streamline public resource allocation through programmable smart contracts, allowing state agencies to audit funds and verify regulatory compliance in real time.
According to Digital Asset's technical report, the configurable privacy capability of Canton Network will enable beneficiary families across the United States to manage multiple subsidies that operate under fragmented schedules, forms, and income thresholds. The RISE program will unify support programs into a periodic payment schedule that automatically adjusts received amounts as household income increases.
