Blockchain Tech and Stablecoins Transform Global Market Transactions
Bitget Wallet's COO Alvin Kan recently spoke at Blockchain.RIO about the potential of blockchain technology and stablecoins in global market transactions. He cited Latin America as a region where instant payments are already common, but noted that digital wallets can fill gaps for people working overseas or sending remittances.
Kan mentioned Southeast Asia as another example of a region where digital wallets can replace traditional methods, allowing users to avoid high credit card fees. He also highlighted the importance of transparency and security in transactions, particularly under differing regulatory frameworks.
Bitget Wallet's infrastructure layer, the Onchain Payments Matrix, coordinates blockchains, stablecoin issuers, card networks, and merchants into a single system, routing transactions and managing settlement across global and local rails. The company also offers a crypto card feature called Assetback, which allows users to earn rewards in Bitcoin, tokenized gold, NYSE-listed stocks, or stablecoins on purchases.
Bitget Wallet currently enables conversion of over 100 currencies into stablecoins and has partnerships with over 300 banks and 130 blockchains worldwide, offering zero or reduced fees. Users can access local instant payment systems through the platform, such as Pix in Brazil and Transferencias 3.0 in Argentina.
